What is productivity?
I used to think productivity means getting everything done in no time. There are multiple perspectives to it. Basically it means three aspects: Efficiency (aspect of physics: high speed, more distance and less time, better quality and fewest possible resources employed.
These aspects of productivity are referred to as Machine approach. It was the demand of industrial era but not valid now. Because it is helpful in a short term but not in the long term. After a particular period of time, it will take your own life and health. That’s not a good thing. This approach may work for labour class or mindless people but not for creative people who wants to challenge boundaries like ME:P.
A new approach towards productivity is BALANCED APPROACH.
This can be summed up in an interesting quote:
«Feel relaxed like a drunk, be sharp like an eagle”
It’s more of like making our bodies as Hybrid Cars. They consume less petrol, more powerful and speed up anytime you want but does not heat up. Without any doubt, control and grip of these cars are second to none.
That’s what I want in my life. I should consume less energy, do more and produce quality. Added to it, I should have a better control on my emotions. How you can know that you are in control is: Very simple. If I do my task without getting depression, anxiety, or hopeless. This means that I am in control. Making it simpler, I am ENJOYING the task. If I enjoy doing something, being efficient, producing quality and using fewer resources is a natural consequence.
Once you involve the emotions by persuading them to enjoy. There is no question of boredom and negativity. So the productivity becomes a result rather than a process which itself becomes a problem after some time.
